Making a Booking

Simply find the event you wish to attend, and follow the steps to create your booking.

If we have availability, the system will allow you to proceed and add tickets to your basket.

All bookings are made online only - we cannot take any bookings over the phone.

Your tickets are available to view/download by logging in to your online account which is found on the top right Hand side on our homepage on our website.

Each ticket holder is automatically issued with an account when purchasing a ticket if you haven’t already created one.

To log into your online account you will need your email address used to make your booking when you registered and your password.

If you have forgotten the password there is a password re set option where we will email for you to change your password (please check your junk folder incase it goes there).

If your email isn't recognised then its possible you have used another email address or an incorrect email address when you signed up.

If you still don't have access then please WhatsApp Us for a member of the admin team to assist.

If you have purchased a ticket with another provider (ticketmaster, skiddle etc), you will have to go directly to your ticket provider, and tickets will not be in your Hot Water Comedy account.

For some weekday shows we offer both free tickets and guaranteed tickets.

Free ticket guarantees entry for the first 50% of people with this ticket on the night. This will be from doors opening.

These tickets are strictly max 4 per group.

Any remaining space will also be available for people with this ticket.

If you'd like to guarantee entry right up until the show start time then we'd recommend purchasing a guaranteed ticket. 

This ticket guarantee's entry for the show up until the start time.

If you arrive later than the show start time then your ticket may be given away to someone on the night waiting for entrance with a free ticket. No refunds or credit will be given in this case.  

To utilise the credit on your account, follow these steps after adding tickets and any additional items to your basket:

1. Proceed to checkout or log in.

2. On the checkout page, scroll towards the bottom, below the sections for personal details, summary, and ticket delivery.

3. Look for the "CREDIT" section.

4. If you have available credit in your account, it will be displayed here. Simply tick the box to use it.

5. If you have a credit voucher code, input it in the designated box within the same section and then tick the small box underneith to redeem it.

6. Any remaining balance after redeeming the voucher will automatically transfer to your account for future purchases.

7. After inputting the voucher code, tick the "use credit" box to deduct the credit from the total before finalizing your purchase.

Please note that credit is for online use only and cannot be redeemed against food or drink purchases at the venue.

No, We don't offer any VIP tickets.

Certain shows however do have different tiered seating options; gold, silver and bronze which allow you to sit closer or further from the stage depending on what you prefer.

If this option is available, then the above ticket types will display when booking tickets, otherwise there is only standard tickets or the options available.

If your required show says 'waiting list' then that show is unfortunately sold out.

You can opt to join the waiting list to get notified on newly released tickets.

When making a booking; 'BOOK NOW' means we have in venue tickets remaining.

'LIMITED' means that within the last 24 hours we have had less than 30 tickets remaining, if you add the required tickets to basket and it lets you then we have those remaining. 

Please enter your DOB exactly how it shows in the example box before you start to type. The correct format is DD/MM/YYYY

The most common reason this doesn't work is because people are entering the year of birth or not using the (/) to separate.

EG. 8th January 1986 would be entered as 08/01/1986

Yes, you can buy gift vouchers for any of our shows using the “shop” button on our menu bar above or clicking the link here.

All of gift vouchers have a 24 month expiry date. Gift Vouchers can be used online only, giving you the freedom to choose from a wide range of upcoming shows, from big-name comedians to exciting new talent on the rise.

Yes, we charge booking fees to cover the cost of us completing the transaction which includes payment provider fees and admin fees. All booking fees are non refundable.

We have multiple performance spaces in our own venues.

We also often host shows in external venues too.

During busy periods and many weekends we often host multiple shows, often with similar lineups of comedians.

Comedians will often be the opening act on one show and closing act on another so they are actually able to perform on more than 1 show on the same night, even if they have the same starting time.

Please be sure to check the full show details to make sure you are booking the correct show.

No, we do however, offer very competitively priced tickets so are already great value for money.

Our shows do get very busy so we feel it's unfair to the smaller groups to offer a discount to any other audience member.

Changes to my Booking

Tickets can be transferred to another date or a credit issued to your account if requested 14 days or more before the scheduled performance date for all shows booked directly on the Hot Water Comedy Club website only that still have availability.

This is only valid for regular weekly events at Hot Water Comedy Club and excludes external events and tour shows, unfortunately these are none transferable and can not be cancelled.

To request a booking change please WhatsApp us and ensure you include the new date/time you wish to book and the your preferred seat numbers if your new event is allocated seating.

Alternatively please advise if you would prefer us to credit your account so you can rebook at your own convenience.

Please be sure to check availability of the event you wish to move to before hand by visiting the website; if the system doesn't allow you to add the required amount to the basket then it is unavailable and we are unable to change to this event.

Refunds cannot be given for any events. If you have purchased the optional extra ticket insurance then you would need to contact ticket plan directly here to make a claim provided that your claim is eligible, as it is an separate company.

The rules regarding transferring tickets for other venues or solo tour shows may be different than our own so be sure to check these before purchasing.

If you want to add somebody to your booking, please go back to the main website and purchase the tickets required again the same way as the original booking under the same account. For our Our own venue at Hot Water Comedy Club all bookings made under the same account will be sat together as one group when we do our seating plan.

If you have booked separately please WhatsApp us with all of the bookers names to ensure we sit you as a group when arranging the seating plan as this is done prior to doors opening times.

If a show is cancelled a credit note will be given to the customer for the full value of the transaction. 

If your show has been postponed or rescheduled and you can not attend please notify us as per our terms and conditions no later than 14 days prior to your new rescheduled date as per our terms and conditions for us to cancel your booking.

Unfortunately not, your seat would've been waiting for you right up until the show started meaning we could not sell it on to somebody else.

When purchasing tickets, we offer an optional ticket plan where you can get a refund from them provided you have met the criteria. To do so please contact them directly here.


If you haven't purchased this optional extra then unfortunately as per our terms and conditions we can not issue a refund as it isn't something that we offer.

We can offer credit for the full value less booking fee as long as this request is made 14 days or longer before the scheduled event start time.
This can ONLY be done via our WhatsApp, please note bookings cannot be changed over the phone, but our staff are always able to assist.

For data protection this request can only be made via the booker directly.

This is only valid for regular weekly events at Hot Water Comedy Club and excludes external events and tour shows, unfortunately these are none transferable and can not be cancelled.

Likewise we can transfer your booking if the event you wish to move to has availability directly on our website and is priced the same, to do so please submit an enquiry and include all the relevant information on the link above, be sure to check out availability on our website prior to requesting your booking change.

Our credit has no expiry and can be used against anything bookable directly via the website.

If you have booked a show that is in less than 14 days time, then normal terms would apply and therefore no credit/booking change will be issued.

From time to time, for our own shows with multiple act lineups, we may have to replace acts for various reasons.

If this happens we will always replace with a like for like act that we're sure will do a fantastic job.

In this instance our normal booking change policy applies. "Line-ups are correct at time of purchase, but may be subject to change."

No refunds will be offered for changes to the lineup but we will always endeavour to replace with like for like performers.

Customers will not be notified of any changes made to shows with multiple comedians performing.

Due to an increased occurrence of fraudulent activities, we strictly don't allow resale, only The Hot Water Comedy Club or its authorised agents are permitted to sell tickets.

We list all tickets for Hot Water Comedy club on our website and skiddle ONLY.

Some external tour show are sold directly through our website and also the venues ticketing provider.

Failure to adhere to this policy will result in the ticket being voided and cancelled, without refund.

Purchasing tickets from unauthorised sellers may result in denial of entry to the show.

If you have sold tickets and the buyer is refused entry then no refund or credit will be issued to the booker as the seats remained for the booker, as stated in our terms and conditions.

If you suspect that you have acquired counterfeit tickets, please contact the seller directly, as Hot Water Comedy will be unable to assist you in this matter.

It is strongly advised to purchase tickets directly from Hot Water Comedy or its authorised agents to prevent falling victim to scams.

From time to time, mostly for external venue tour shows, some or all of the tickets may be sold directly through the venue itself.

In these circumstances it would be the venues terms and conditions applicable for the booking as opposed to Hot Water Comedy Club's.

You would not be able to transfer/receive a credit note in the normal way for our own events and would need to contact the venue you booked with for any booking related enquiries.

On the night

All ticket holders need to display their ticket and QR code for entrance.

You don’t have to print this out -  this can be shown on your phone.

If you do not have access to a mobile, then ticket and QR code must be printed to guarantee entry.

Since there are no cloakroom facilities, the restriction on backpacks and large bags in the theatre is a safety and viewing precaution. Small bags fitting under seats or on laps are permitted for convenience and comfort. Safety first! 

If a show has tickets left then you will be able to purchase these on the door.

If a show is displaying as sold out on our website there may end up being some tickets available on the door if we have any no shows but this will not be guaranteed, and on most occasions you wouldn't be able to go into the theatre until the show has just started.

We do, however have a main bar area at Blackstock Market that is completely separate that you can wait in with regular live music on stage.

Please bring your E-Ticket with you as proof of purchase or you can show this on your mobile phone upon entrance to the theatre.

Your E-ticket will be issued within a few minutes from completing your purchase but may end up in your junk folder.

You can also log into your online account using your email address as your username to download your tickets if you have lost them.

For all online payments, we accept credit and debit cards.

To ensure a smoother and more secure experience for everyone, please note that our venue is now cashless.

We accept card payments only on-site. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We recommend arriving early to ensure you have enough time to go to the bar for any drinks or snacks you wish to purchase before the show start / collect any pre-ordered drinks and enough time to find the theatre and get to your seat.

If you wish to arrive for any pre-show food, please allow a reasonable time for this to be prepped, delivered and consumed before heading into the theatre.

Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled show start time to allow time for drinks at the bar and seating before the show begins.

If you arrive late (after the show start time) and the performance has already begun, we'll do our best to seat you, but you may need to wait until the break if it disrupts the act and audience.

Additionally, if late arrivals coincide with walk-ups seeking entry, your tickets may be sold to fill empty seats.

For free event tickets (including guaranteed tickets), it's essential to arrive no later than the show's start time, or seats may be released to waiting customers.

If this occurs and no seats are available, you can request a credit reimbursement for any seats that are no longer available.

Please notify the show manager on the night to claim your credit note and contact us via Whatsapp for credit issuance.

This policy does not apply to external events and tour shows. Please refer to their individual policies.

For shows without a break interval (e.g., solo/tour shows), we cannot guarantee entrance if you arrive late, as seating you may be too disruptive.
In such cases, no credit will be offered, but we'll make every effort to accommodate you if possible.

All our shows feature theatre-style seating and are unreserved unless seat selection is available during checkout.

For unreserved shows, seating is allocated upon arrival. If you arrive together and on time, all members of the same booking will be seated together.

Arriving early may provide more seating options, but this depends on the seating plan for the night and the size of your group.

The shows run times vary depending on the type of show you are going to see.

Most weekday and triple headline shows usually run for approximately 1.5 hours, depending on breaks and comedians and therefore are subject to change.

All individual events will show the start and finish time on the event so we recommending checking there before booking.

These times are also on your ticket if you have already made a booking.

Please note: times are approximate, we always aim to start and finish at times stated but it is not always possible.

Blackstock Market is situated a short distance from several central train stations. Moorfields, James Street, and Lime Street train stations are all approximately a 20-minute walk away.

The local bus stops are a 1 minute walk away right on the corner or Blackstock Street. Bus numbers 54 and 56 go past in both directions on Vauxhall road.

At Blackstock Market, unfortunately we don’t have our own car park,

There is free parking along Blackstock Street, usual guidance is Free parking for up to 4 hours on non-event days at Bramley Moore Stadium, and up to 2 hours on event days. 

The information above is only for guidance, we highly recommend checking signage and the Liverpool Council website for more up-to-date information on changes to this rule.

Please ensure you park correctly and in the right locations. 

We are close to the city centre, any main multi-storey car park would be a short walk away, you can use Google Maps for directions and distances.

No, friendly banter may be part of the night so you may be spoken to at some point during the show but we do not book any acts who would specifically pick on any audience member.

Yes, For our headline shows there is no max group booking therefore as long as you've booked under the one booking name or have let us know in advance which bookings are to be joined together then you'll be sat together.

We would kindly ask that larger groups take note of all the normal show rules like no heckling/talking whilst acts are on stage etc and ensure that the group is aware of our terms and house rules that have been agreed when making your booking.

Groups that have booked individually and not notified us that it is one large group may be sat in separate parts of the theatre as all seating allocation is done before anybody arrives.

If you are part of a group that arrives after the show start time then you may not be sat together.

For all Sunday and weekday shows that offer either free or guaranteed tickets we have a max capacity of 4 per group.

If you book seperate and all turn up we can not guarantee you will be sat together. This is because of the type of show which may vary from new acts or new material which is not suitable for large groups. Please check the individual events for more information.

Some solo/tour shows also have a max capacity per group. When booking the system will prompt you if your group is too large.

Tour shows at external venues all differ, if you do don't select your own seat then this means the event is unreserved and the same terms as above apply.

Our Blackstock Market venue has designated smoking areas located within the venue and these are signposted around, should you require any assistance please ask a member of the team who will be happy to assist. Additionally, vaping is not permitted inside the venue. Vapers are kindly asked to vape outside with the other smokers.
Yes, our shows will have security staff in attendance who may perform bag searches or ask for ID upon entry to the comedy club. Please do not feel offended by this as it is just to ensure that we provide a safe environment for everybody in attendance.
Important - If your ticket includes a photo or signed item, please arrive a minimum of 2 hours before the show start time on your ticket and the event listing.

AFTER YOUR VISIT

If you recently visited one of our shows but forgot the name of one of the acts you really enjoyed then you can visit our comedians page where all of our acts are listed. 

If you think you've lost something at one of our shows then please WhatsApp Us on the link.

Please include as much information as possible including date, time and location you think you may have misplaced your item with a full description of your lost item.  

Comments and feedback are very important to us and help to improve the services delivered to all our customers.

If you have feedback or a complaint about something that is disrupting your experience, please query this with the staff on the night. We will do all we can to quickly rectify this for you.

If you would like to make a formal complaint after the event, or wish to send us some feedback, we welcome you to do so.

Please WhatsApp us and it will reach the correct department. We respond in every instance in due course, once the matter has been investigated.

Most shows are recorded and it's part of our terms and conditions that customers consent to this before booking tickets.

These videos are then edited by the correct department, and the best clips then make it onto our social media channels.

We do not ask guests for permission to post online before we do so.

If this isn't agreed then please do not purchase tickets.

Lost / Resend Tickets

You will receive your e ticket via email straight after your order is placed so they should be in your inbox or junk folder to access. 

If you can not locate your email then please log into your online account. Your username is your email address.

If you still don't have access then please WhatsApp us to speak to a member of the team. Please note that during busy periods, it may take up to 48 hours excluding weekends for a response.

You will usually receive your ticket straight away as an e-ticket once your order is placed it via email.  Be sure to check your junk folder incase it goes there by mistake.

If you do not receive your ticket please log in to your online account to download it, your email address is your username.

If you still don't have access then please WhatsApp us for a member of our admin team to assist you.  Please note that during busy periods, it may take up to 48 hours excluding weekends for a response.

All our online tickets are e-tickets, which you should receive immediately after payment.

If you've booked for one of our own shows at Hot Water Comedy Club, your name will be on the guest list, but we still recommend having your e-ticket in case of any issues.

Our friendly door staff are always available to assist you. Please check your junk or spam folder, as e-tickets may sometimes end up there.

If you can't locate them, you can retrieve your tickets by logging into your online account using your email address as your username.

Food and Drink

Yes!

You can pre-order drinks before your arrival when purchasing your tickets.
This will pop up before the payment page and can be added to your basket - you will make payment for this when paying for your tickets.

These will then be collected from our service bar prior to your show start time. 

Please do ensure you leave enough time to collect your drinks before your show starts.

Food cannot be preordered, and does have to be purchased on the day whilst on site.

Yes! Hot Water Comedy Club is located inside Blackstock Market which is home to 8 food vendors.

If you are going to a show, please ensure you order with a reasonable time before your show seating time to ensure your food can be prepared, delivered and enjoyed before heading into the show to be sat by one of our ushers.

If you are running late - food is served until 10PM so you can always enjoy food after your show!

In all our own venues, the bar area is separate from the performance space.

For all shows, drinks can be taken inside the performance room. Bar snacks are available at the bar and can also be taken inside the theatre however, our food hall is located separately within Blackstock Market.

Meals ordered from the food hall cannot be taken into the theatre as it is in a completely separate area.

Please ensure you leave enough time for your meal to be prepared, delivered and consumed before your show start time.

House Rules

We ask that all customers be dressed, just wear whatever makes you comfortable, but we do ask that anything that may obstruct the view of another person in the audience not be worn. 

Fancy dress is also not allowed in the performance room.

Yes, comedy is a fantastic place to bring a larger group. 

We would kindly ask that larger groups take note of all the house rules like no heckling/talking whilst acts are on stage etc. 

We do not allow fancy dress inside the performance room. 

You will be refused entry on the night if you turn up in fancy dress so please do not be offended.

Please note that most of our midweek shows do not allow large groups at all. 

This is because of the type of show which may vary from new acts or new material which is not suitable for large groups. 

Please check the individual events for more information.

No, heckling and talking amongst your group while the comedians are on stage is not part of a comedy night. This also ruins the show for nearby audience members.

We kindly ask that if you plan to heckle or talk whilst the acts are on stage that you do this at another comedy club, or even better at home.

Anybody repeatedly talking or heckling during any show will be asked to leave without refund.

Unfortunately, our show is time-sensitive, and we are unable to accommodate shout-out requests during the performance.

Regarding taking pictures, we regret to inform you that it's not a service we offer.

Since all comedians are self-employed, we cannot allow this without their consent. They may have prior commitments such as other performances.

However, if you happen to encounter them outside of the show, you're welcome to request a picture. This will be down to the comedian as an individual and is no association with Hot Water Comedy Club.

We kindly ask that phones and other devices are switched on to silent for the duration of the show as it can be disruptive to the acts on stage and the audience around you.If you do need to take a call we kindly ask that you leave the theatre to take outside in the main hall, however please note you may need to wait for the next interval to re enter.
Any customer arriving and deemed to be too intoxicated or disruptive will be refused entry/asked to leave without refund.
Due to the copyright of comedians material and the fact that we record all shows, recording of the show by any customer at any point is strictly prohibited and will result in you being asked to leave by security without warning.

Free Entry Shows

For some shows we offer both free tickets and guaranteed tickets.

Free ticket guarantees entry for the first 50% of people with this ticket on the night. This will be from doors opening.

These tickets are strictly max 4 per group.

Any remaining space will also be available for people with this ticket.

If you'd like to guarantee entry right up until the show start time then we'd recommend purchasing a guaranteed ticket. This ticket guarantee's entry for the show up until the start time. If you arrive later than the show start time then your ticket may be given away to someone on the night.  

Blackstock Market buzzes with an array of live entertainment and events, featuring daily and nightly live music on the main stage, available Thursday - Sunday.

Hot Water Comedy Club can offer free entry shows due to the increased numbers inside the whole venue for events for free entry shows.

If you are unsure if you are able to arrive for the free entry guaranteed time then we advise booking a paid ticket which would guarantee entry right up until the show start time.

Please note, these tickets do not guarantee entrance after the show start time if you are late as if we are full seats will be issued to any free ticket holders who may be waiting in the queue.

If you'd like to guarantee entry right up until the show start time then we'd recommend purchasing a guaranteed ticket.

Due to a small number of people reserving tickets for our free entry shows and not attending or cancelling their tickets with enough notice we now have a 3 strike rule.

If you reserve tickets for our free shows and don't attend or cancel 3 times in one year then your future free entry tickets will be automatically cancelled without notice.

This is to ensure seats arent blocked off for other customers by people who have no intention of attending.

Age Restrictions

We allow children 16+ to attend any shows that end before 10PM as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

The venue is child friendly up until 10PM, however any under 18's are required to leave after 10PM.

Babies and young children are not permitted at any of our comedy performances, unless it’s a designated "Comedy for Kids" event. The content may not be appropriate, and little ones can be disruptive to others in the audience and the act on stage. 

However, under 18s are welcome in our main Blackstock Market Food Hall until 10pm, so you’re more than welcome to wait there if others in your group are attending the show.

HOW TO FIND US

Hot Water Comedy Club features multiple theatres within the venue, all located indoors.

Your ticket will indicate which theatre you're assigned to, and there will be a large screen in the food hall displaying the events taking place in each room.

Additionally, our door staff and friendly ushers will be readily available to assist you if needed.

We host our shows across many different cities and venues, please be sure to check your booking to ensure you are attending the correct event as many evenings have multiple shows in different venues.

The full venue address for your event will always be on your ticket and can also be found by revisiting the event that you have booked on the website.

Please note, our usual response time is usually within a few hours during normal weekday working hours however we do ask to allow up to 48 hours during busy periods and excludes weekends.

If you have waited longer than this time it is more likely that your enquiry may have been missed so please do reach out again.

Kids Comedy Shows

This show is 6+ recommended due to being required to sit for a period of time, kids under 6 are also welcome to attend. 

Under 2's sitting on knees are free to attend, all family members taking a seat will need a paid ticket though.

Most shows are recorded and it's part of our terms and conditions that customers consent to this before booking tickets.

All ticket holders consent to the recording and filming of themselves as members of the audience As we record most shows and reserve the right to use any footage recorded how we see fit including publishing online across our social media channels. It is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to let all members of the group know. 

If this isn't agreed then please do not purchase tickets. 

Unfortunately, we don’t provide this service.

However, short clips may be shared on our social media channels in the future, though there is no fixed schedule for their release.

Live streams of our own shows show are also available for anyone on our Patreon.  (Excludes external tour shows)

Blue Light Tickets

Here at Hot Water Comedy Club we offer all eligible parties a completely free ticket for many comedy show on us for all you everyday 'blue light' heroes*

Carer Tickets

Here at Hot Water Comedy Club, we offer free tickets to carers for any eligible shows.

All carer free tickets need to be booked via WhatsApp after booking the rest of your group in.

Please do not pay for the carer ticket – our standard refund and cancellation policy applies, and we cannot issue refunds if you accidentally put through your booking instead of following the carer ticket process above. 

When booking any shows with tiered pricing options, it is always the standard / lowest price option that is free. 

If you wish for a higher priced ticket (gold or silver ticket) please purchase the ticket you would like first, and then we will refund the difference between the standard pricing and the chosen ticket price.

COMEDIANS

We have 2 nights a week for new comedians; A Thursday and a Sunday.

3 Minutes of Fame every Thursday at 7pm, anyone can step up to the mic – brand-new comedians, daring first-timers, or even a mate from the audience who fancies their shot. Sign up on the night and take your shot at comedy glory.

Unlimited sign ups until 8:30pm on a first come first served basis.

After that, our three audience judges can raise their cards at any time.

If all three go up - GONG! – you’re off.

Survive the full 3 minutes and you’ve beaten the gong and booked your spot in the night’s final showdown.

We strongly recommend visiting the website of the venue for any events that are not held in a venue that we own and manage as they may have different rules on what you need to gain entry, in general external events require your valid e ticket for entrance.
