KEVIN has been doing live gigs since January 2022 and done over 120 so far, making rapid progress. He's supported comedians such as Paul Tonkinson,Tom Wrigglesworth, Jack Gleadow, Jack Carroll and Jonny Pelham.

He has written a number of screenplays and was one of the winners of the Northern Film School Short Script Competition in 2017. They made his film 'God Will Judge' and it premiered at Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds. So technically Kevin has had a movie on the big screen.

The Bradford born comic was also chosen to appear on The Moth International Main Stage in 2020 after they picked his story Six Million Dollar Heist after he left a sample on The Moth answering machine in New York. Due to Covid it was on Zoom to a worldwide audience. In September 2022 he read the story live, to a huge event at Union Chapel in London. This story will now be broadcast across the USA on over 500 radio stations in November 2023.

McDonnell was probably the most nicely odd act of the show. He mixes rock solid down to earth observations with a dose of surrealism and the end result is surprisingly powerful. McDonnell was compelling listening and I’d like to see him again. He made it through to the final with ease. - Peter Fox

McDonnell is a good writer who has a cracking sense of words and language. Combine these with down to earth references that are just that bit slightly surreal and you’ve got a winning combination. I can see McDonnell developing into a very good story teller. Tonight his set went down a storm. Notts Comedy Review – Dec 2022
