Hot Water Comedy Club was founded in 2010 by brothers Paul and Binty, and since then has gone on to become one of the most successful comedy clubs in the world.
The club started off at a nightclub in Liverpool City Centre, a venue which it quickly outgrew, eventually moving to The Crown Inn. Operating above this popular pub saw the brand go from strength to strength, establishing itself as a firm favourite amongst acts and audience alike. But another move was soon on the cards - Hot Water relocated again to The Holiday Inn, where it spent over three years delivering top class entertainment in partnership with the hotel chain.
Where most owners would be happy, Paul and Binty decided that this was a stepping stone for something even bigger. In December 2016 they opened Liverpool’s first purpose built comedy club open 7 days a week, which rapidly achieved unprecedented success. Located on Seel Street in the heart of town it wasn’t long before the comedy club was attracting visitors from not just all over the UK, but all over the world.
The club was quickly selling out every night of the week, and the brothers realised another venue was needed to keep up with demand. In July 2018 they opened a second comedy club, this time in Hardman Street at the iconic ‘Magnet’ venue.
In 2024, the brothers expanded again to a huge 60,000 square foot venue - Blackstock Market which is now the new and current home of Hot Water Comedy Club. With 3 theatre spaces and enough seating to hold over 1000 customers at any one show time, it makes this venue the LARGEST regular comedy venue in the WORLD.
The ability to host comedy in the new 60,000 square foot venue also offers convenient pre-show food options, with 9 market vendors selling all cuisine from burgers, to chinese, to chicken, mexican and even vegan! They have a huge 4 bars on site so getting a drink before your show has never been easier - including a Mediterranean themed Rooftop Garden overlooking the new home of Everton Football Club - Bramley Moor.
