James Alderson is an award-winning, record-breaking international comedian! He regularly performs stand-up for large comedy chains and independent clubs around the country and abroad, as well as a variety of universities, charities, private parties, weddings, the military, sports dinners & corporate events.
The last 12 months have been massive for James....!
As well as supporting Jo Brand and Eddie Izzard, he was also nominated for the third year running as "Best Comedian" by The Guide Awards. James has spent the last 12 months developing his reputation with many major clubs across the UK, gigging a number of times for The Glee Club, Jongleurs, Highlight, Buzz Comedy and many more during his 250+ shows!
James has established himself as resident MC for a number of professional clubs, including the prestigious Spinnaker Tower Comedy Club and Comedy All Stars, was asked to perform at the Children In Need Gala at The King's Theatre in November, and was the host for the 2000 seater tent for the brand new star-studded Southsea Comedy Festival!
James made his first steps into TV work, starring in Vauxhall's Euro advert, Daily Star On Sunday's footie advert, and most signifcantly playing a major acting role in Objective Production's new Channel 4 prime-time prank show called "Eye Spy" which aired in late 2013. James also launched the South Coast Comedian of the Year 2014 competition, and hosted the heats and final in Spring/Summer 2014 in Portsmouth, in a bid to find the brightest new comedy talent on the south coast!
In the Summer of 2014, James organised a major 100 mile charity walk and cycle from BT Tower, London to Spinnaker Tower, with over a dozen other well known comedians, from TV and the UK comedy circuit, called "MIC, BIKE 'N' HIKE" raising nearly £10,000 in the process.
James was also part of the team of professional comedians that broke the world record for the longest stand-up show across a 4 day period, performing three times during the 83 hour show!
Last but not least, James regularly appears on BBC Radio Solent, Express Fm and Jack FM as a guest comedian.
James has an effervescent and exuberant style, explaining why most clubs in the UK book him to open the show! He draws on his life experiences as a 30-something man to feed his routines. He's been described by many as an 'everyman comedian'. Women laugh at his hilarious observations and self-depricating style, and men laugh with him, feeling his pain and his frustrations....you rarely know where James will go with his comedic tales and punchlines, but he always takes the crowd with him, laughing all the way....
James also runs a major comedy club in Hampshire, seating 400, starring a full line-up of TV comedians, featuring the likes of Sean Hughes, Tony Law, Katherine Ryan, Russell Kane, Paul Chowdhry, Jarred Christmas, Hal Cruttenden, Lucy Porter, and more in recent months.
James is married to Charlotte, his dream girl, who he met whilst on holiday in Corfu in 1994, when he was just 19.
They tied the knot in 2001.
James is now the proud father of two terrific young boys, Louis & Joe, aged 10 and 7.
