About James

James is an upbeat and affable act who has performed as an act and a compere on the Northern English circuit since 2005. His act incorporates one-liners, stories, a beermat, and an impression of John Bishop. In 2012, James performed 'Bring Me The Head Of Russell Kane', his third full solo show at the Edinburgh Festival on the award-winning PBH Free Fringe. What follows are some Twitter comments relating to the show. A keen writer, James has had several articles about comedy published in culture magazines Aesthetica and The Talk, including an interview with revered US stand-up Doug Stanhope. He has been a co-host on Shatner's Bassoon, a fun and informal live hour of comedy banter and chat on SheffieldLive FM. He also runs the busy website and forums at www.yorkshirecomedy.com During his birth, James's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. This usually necessitates a caesarean birth. However, because the umbilical cord was so long, a normal birth was possible. This may explain the cravat which is a permanent fixture around his neck. The umbilical cord remains preserved in York hospital, as a medical curiosity, and is roughly twice the normal length.
